For the past 19 years, I have been recording the Useless Information Podcast, which is a collection of strange, silly, and downright unbelievable stories that have been forgotten to history. ListenNotes scores it in the top 0.5% of all podcasts worldwide. Total downloads have now exceeded 8 million.
The podcast is an offshoot of my Useless Information website, which I began back in 1994. I've also written three books, all collections of the quirky stories that I like to tell. My first book, Einstein's Refrigerator, was a #1 Kindle book for one week back in 2011.
Professionally, I was a high school science teacher (Earth Science and Physics) at Chatham High School for 30 years. I retired in June 2020. My brother and I also owned a successful online pet supplies business for 10 years before selling it in 2010.
My wife Mary Jane and I currently live in Wynantskill in a 117-year-old house that I have been constantly renovating since we purchased it 18 years ago. I do nearly all of the work myself.
